WE Communications Expands AI Academy to EMEA

January 15, 2025

Tailored offering to help companies navigate EU AI Act compliance ahead of upcoming deadline

LONDON, FRANKFURT, Germany, JOHANNESBURG – January 15, 2025 – WE Communications (WE), a global communications agency, has announced the expansion of its AI Academy to the EMEA region. The AI Academy is a comprehensive training program for communicators and marketers, covering critical general AI knowledge, hands-on training on common and publicly available AI tools, and demonstrates ways to integrate AI tools into daily workflows. This initiative aims to help companies meet the EU AI Act’s new employee training requirements, set to take effect in February 2025.

Following its successful launch in the US earlier this year, the AI Academy now offers businesses in EMEA practical tools to navigate the evolving AI regulations and empower employees with essential skills for integrating AI technologies.

“With the EU AI Act requiring employees who use AI systems to have proper training, our AI Academy offers a bespoke solution for companies across the region,” said Daniel Blank, EMEA Head of Integrated Marketing at WE Communications. “The fast-changing regulatory landscape can be overwhelming, and our own recent research confirmed that businesses and individuals are struggling to keep pace. Our program turns compliance into an opportunity for growth by making AI literacy accessible and impactful.”

WE’s AI Academy provides flexible training options for communications teams, including full-day workshops, multi-unit sessions, and online seminars. The curriculum covers both basic and advanced topics, combining theoretical knowledge with hands-on practice.

Key topics include:

  • AI and LLM (Large Language Model) fundamentals
  • Practical use of AI tools like ChatGPT, Copilot and Midjourney
  • Data protection, ethical AI use and best practices

Participants will receive an official certificate from the WE Communications AI Academy, recognizing their AI expertise.

“The AI Academy bridges the gap between regulatory compliance and workforce development,” said Laura Gillen, UK Managing Director of WE Communications . “By providing practical, tailored training, we’re not just helping communications teams meet legal requirements, but also use AI technologies in smarter, more ethical ways .”
